I like to think that being an artist is my third career. As a young graduate with a B.Sc. In Chemical Engineering I started my working career as a process engineer in an oil refinery. Further study for an MBA degree led to almost two decades working in finance as an equity analyst.

A move from South Africa to the UK in 2016 caused me to pick up my pencils again, something I hadn't done since studying art for matric back in the eighties!  I started doing home portrait commissions for friends but when Covid lockdown struck, I was lucky enough to stumble upon online botanical art tutorials and I was immediately hooked. Lots of trial and error with watercolours followed but an inherent love of nature, the outdoors and a fascination with the detail and intricacy of plants has kept me wanting to keep learning and developing as a botanical artist.

I am thrilled to say that I have been accepted onto the Society of Botanical Artists' Distance Learning Diploma Course No. 21 which I will start in January 2024 and I'm sure will keep me focused for the ensuing 27 months.

I welcome commissions and also have a range of fine art giclée prints (sizes: A4, A3, A2) for most of my botanical portraits which I can supply framed and mounted or simply mounted.
